NASCAR….

NASCAR has arrived in our back yard!  Our 1st of 2 in Martinsville in 2011.  I am a BIG NASCAR fan…love the sport, the fans and the drivers.  I have been fortunate enough to photograph many races in Martinsville as well as watch them from the stands as a fan.  My wife called to tell me the #17 show car was up at Towers, so you know what happens next!  I grab the gear bag and thought I would share a few with you…

(See where I’m going?)  Then I thought, ok do it for 21 days.  You know, they say, do something for 21 days and it becomes part of your routine….so, here we go…will I make it? 21 days of blogging? we shall see, let’s start with “The HIlls”

Your 1st Impression…

…is everything.  That’s what you are told in business. Real Estate Agents, Financial Planners, Salesmen, anyone is business that uses their portrait in their marketing, that’s your first impression.  And that headshot sometimes stay the same for years, and let’s face, we all change.  Different hairstyle, glasses, maybe even a new position.  Does your Business portrait match who you are?  Have you gone to a meeting, and were not recognized, because your Business Portrait was outdated?

This is a great time to take advantage of our 4 Hour Business Portrait Sale. A Business Portrait Session will be on sale for $75(normally $95) It takes place next Tuesday, February 15th from 10a-2pm.  All you have to do is call the studio (540.342.9129) during those hours and reserve your session.  You will receive a 15 minute session, and the image of your choice with complete usage rights to use in all your marketing.  So “Freshen Up” and save, during our Business Portrait 4 Hour Sale next Tuesday!

a relaxing Friday…

It’s been a very quiet day here at the studio… I was suppose to photograph 2 Boxers this afternoon, but their Mom  had a bad cold, so we had to reschedule.  Hopefully next week…it did give me the opportunity to go through some image from 2010, and I found some from our summer event, “the Dog and Cat Days of Summer”.  It’s our foodraiser for the RVSPCA, and since I couldn’t show you images of the 2 boxers, I thought I would post this one….

YES you can…

is the answer!  Gift Certificates for Valentine’s Puppy Love sessions are available.  Our gift certificates won’t wilt, go state, or be the wrong size. And the images will last forever! Just call the studio at 540.342.9192.

oh, by the way…if you don’t have a furry 4 legged buddy, you can find one here, or here, or here.  Or just bring in your special someone and have some fun.

Pets…

I know it comes as no secret how much I love pets, and how much I love to photograph them. But like every other professional, you get so busy doing what you love for others, that you don’t make sure you do it for yourself.  That became evident the other day, when I looked at one of our older dogs(his name is Pez) and really took in how much his age is showing. I started to wonder, where did all the time go, Pez is old.  It seemed like yesterday I could hardly harness his power, now he needs me a bit more.  I have photographs of Pez,  and I am so glad I do.  Pez is a beautiful, sweet boy.  His personality will always be etched in my mind, and thank goodness with his photographs, I can always look into his eyes.

Make sure, if it’s with your point and shoot, or images taken by a professional….photograph your pets. That furry, bundle of unconditional love is only here with us for a short visit.

as far as Mondays go…

This one wasn’t bad, considering…when I woke up, it was cloudy, chilly enough to make you wear a jacket, and I felt like that cold I have been trying to get was winning.  Monday’s at the studio are busy with administrative work, so while I started to dig in, I started thinking about my love of music, my years in radio and all the artists I worked when and got to know.  Then this song came to mind, Rose of Cimarron by Poco. Man I love this song.  It’s one of those that has been a part of the fabric of my soul for many years.  I found a version on YouTube and played it over and over, posted the video on Facebook , and thought about all the good people and memories associated with that song.  It made me smile…if you’ve never heard it or would like to here it again, just click here___
